Next week....

WOW! I woke at 1:00 a.m., to do some more journaling, and was so surprised to see all the new posts on my blog! I was hoping students could be informed of my trip, and feel a part of my experience. Thanks to Mrs. Katie James, our computer specialist at Lakeview Elementary, for providing students to read these entries and post. I want to say a special thanks to all the students who read my journals, and respond.

I will be leaving for my prefecture, of Ibaraki, on Sunday, and will be connected to the internet while there! It will be especially nice, because the city of Tsukuba where I will be staying, allows FREE internet service! While we are there, our group of 20 teachers, will visit each level of school, government officials, the Tsukubasan Shrine, Tsukubasan Gamaen, and the fabulous science museum. Tsukuba is a technology city… right up my ally! Next weekend, I will be staying with my host family, Akiko and Tunsei Chiba, with their 20 year old son, Yasuhiro. The father is a professor, and the mother is a flower arranger, while their son is an office worker who likes music.

I will write more on Sunday night! Tomorrow we have the day off, and although many people are visiting more shrines, special attractions, I on the other hand, am taking a cooking class!

To Katie James: Would you inform Kirk, I cannot connect to the LPS page. Is Japan too far away:-( The last time I could connect was in San Francisco, CA.
